Ellen Macarthur Trust
The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust takes young people aged between 8-24 sailing to help them regain their confidence, on their way to recovery from cancer, leukaemia and other serious illness.
Thomas Coke, the first Earl of Leicester, conceived the Palladian Hall as his vision of an Italian villa on the windswept north Norfolk coast. The Coke family has lived there continuously since the 1750s and take great pride in sharing the house and its treasures, the Deer Park and Holkham Beach, with visitors.
Holkham is still privately owned, and is the centre of a thriving 25,000-acre agricultural estate; which provides resources both to maintain the house, and to ensure that the social fabric of rural life remains intact.
Rapanui is an eco-fashion company in our own back yard. They male organic ethical clothing and are all about making eco-fashion cool. They have won numerous awards and are not bad at football.
Volunteers are the heart of the RNLI. They rely on more than 40,000 volunteers – on lifeboats, at stations, on beaches, and in fundraising. Some crew members and most lifeguards are full time. They work with other staff to ensure comprehensive safety coverage around our islands. The RNLI is an independent charity with a board of volunteer trustees.
